Home Minister Gurung Urges Swiss Cooperation to Probe Suspected Illicit Funds

Kathmandu: Home Minister Sudhan Gurung held a courtesy meeting with Daniel Muley on Wednesday, discussing various aspects of bilateral relations and cooperation between Nepal and Switzerland.
The meeting, held at the Ministry of Home Affairs, focused on strengthening collaboration, particularly in areas related to governance and financial transparency.
During the discussion, Minister Gurung raised concerns that some Nepali nationals may have deposited illegally acquired funds in Swiss banks. He formally requested the Swiss side to help verify such suspected deposits and provide necessary assistance to the Government of Nepal in related investigations.
The minister stated that the request aligns with the government’s priority to curb corruption and control the flow of illicit money.
In response, Ambassador Muley assured that Switzerland would continue to support Nepal in its efforts toward development, good governance, and institutional cooperation.
